New Hampshire

These are the pages which show both the ratification of the 1812 13th Amendment as well as the evidence of the letters from Virginia on said amendment. I found all but Virginia’s letters mentioned therein at the Secretary of States archives on Fruit street in Concord New~Hampshire.

Why is Virginia’s correspondence the ONLY one missing from New~Hampshire’s archives?

Is it in Secretary of State William Gardener’s private collection on the second floor of the archives or in the Safe at the left end of his office on the second floor of the State House?

. . . and what about those Virginia papers? . . . are they also missing from the other State’s archives?

See below, pages 180 and 181 of this Journal
